Experience Kubota Garden in an intentionally sensory way through the practice of Forest Bathing: a session to connect with nature in community. This summer, KGF is hosting a storytelling series of children's books and art activities following the theme of Japanese American immigrant stories. Author Lori Matsukawa will read her book Brave Mrs. Sato, a heartwarming story of intergenerational friendship, immigration, and bravery. The story is followed by an ikebana demonstration by Lori. For families with children ages 5 - 12.
This is a free drop in program and adults must be in attendance with child(ren).

DAIPANbutoh Collective performers interpret and respond live to the natural elements of Kubota Garden in art of butoh: an avant-garde form of Japanese dance theatre characterized by its unique aesthetics, expressive movements, and often unsettling, awakening and transformative themes.
This event is free and open to the public.
Dancers will be performing throughout the Garden.
